Goucher Women's Tennis Player Katie Marzerka Named A Landmark Conference Athlete Of The Week

BALTIMORE, Md. – Katie Marzerka (Wolfeboro, N.H./Kingswood Regional), a member of the Goucher College women's tennis team, has been named a Landmark Conference Athlete Of The Week.

With the unprecedented cancellation of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark will be recognizing an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored spring sport for the remainder of the academic year. Honorees were nominated for recognition by their respective institution.  

In 2020, she went 2-2 in singles play and teamed up with fellow senior Kyoko Kinoshita (Tokyo, Japan/Tilton School [N.H.]) to go 4-0 at the Goucher Fall Invitational.  

Marzerka registered a 26-15 record in singles and 12-7 mark in double play in her career. The senior's best season came in her sophomore campaign when she went 12-5 in singles play while last season she posted a 10-6 record to help the Gophers to their first postseason berth since 2013.
