Senior Spotlight: Women's Tennis Katie Marzerka

Ladies and gentlemen, with today's Senior Spotlight we would like to thank a women's tennis player for her hard work and dedication to Goucher College and the women's tennis program for the last four years! This senior hails from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, who tallied a 26-15 singles mark and a 12-7 record in doubles play. Twice in her career she posted double-digit wins including a career-best 12-6 record in her sophomore year. She went 2-2 In singles action and 6-2 in doubles in the fall including teaming with Kyoko Kinoshita to win all four matches at the Goucher Invitational in the fall. Majoring in business management and French, she is the daughter of Fran and Shawn. Ladies and gentlemen, Katie Marzerka.

  2019-20
 
  • Posted a 2-2 record in singles and a 6-2 record in doubles
  • Registered a 4-0 doubles record with Kyoko Kinoshita at the Goucher Invitational on September 28-29
  • Earned a 6-1, 6-2 win against Lebanon Valley on October 4 for her final collegiate win
   2018-19
 
  • Registered a 10-6 record in singles and 3-1 in doubles
  • Posted nine single wins in straight sets
  • Notched wins in her final four finished matches including three conference wins
  2017-18
 
  • Finished a career-best 12-6 record in singles and 3-4 record in doubles
  • Recorded a five-game singles winning streak and won eight of nine matches during the season
  • Earned nine straight-set wins in singles play
  • Defeated SUNY Oneonta in a marathon match 7-5, 6-7 (10-5), 10-3 on April 22
  2016-17
 
  • Registered a 2-2 record in her freshman campaign
  • Made collegiate debut against Catholic on April 19
  • Earned first career win with a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Juniata ion April 28

  • Played on the girls tennis team at Kingswood Regional
  • Served as team captain for two seasons
