BELTON, Texas - The Goucher College women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to Concordia (Texas) and Mary Hardin-Baylor on Wednesday. The Gophers fell 9-0 to the Tornados, then were topped by the Crusaders 7-2.

First Match

Goucher (2-7) was swept for just the second time this season by Concordia (6-4).
In doubles, Anais Dhillon (Cambridge, England / Hills Road Sixth Form College) and Gigi Bellisario (Elmer, N.J./Woodstown) dropped an 8-3 decision at No. 1.
Dhillon forced a third set at No. 1 singles before falling 6-3, 6-7 (0), 10-6.
Alex DiGiovanni (York, Pa./Dover) also forced a third set at No. 4 before being defeated 6-2, 2-6, 10-5.

Second Match

Against UMHB (4-7), Goucher dropped all three doubles matches by 8-2 scores.
Dhillon earned a three-set victory at No. 1 singles, rallying for a 5-7, 6-3, 10-8 win.
DiGiovanni also rallied for a three-set win at No. 5, posting a 2-6, 7-5, 10-8 triumph.
Ceri McCaffrey (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) sent her match at No, 2 to a third set before falling 6-3, 6-7 (0), 10-7.

DiGiovanni upped her singles record to 6-3, including 4-0 at No. 5.

What's Next

Goucher opens Landmark Conference play Saturday, traveling to Susquehanna for a 1 pm contest.
The Gophers return home Saturday, April 2, hosting Salisbury at 11:30 am at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
