Women's Tennis Lauded for Academics by ITA
TOWSON, Md. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recognized the Goucher College women's tennis team for its work in the classroom on Wednesday. Eight members of the team were recognized as 2022 ITA NCAA Division III Women's Scholar Athletes, while the Gophers were named an All-Academic Team as well.
Student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year to be recognized. Teams are honored when they have a 3.2 or better team GPA.
The eight Gopher student athletes recognized were seniors Alex DiGiovanni (York, Pa./Dover) and Sara Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove), junior Ceri McCaffrey (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley), sophomore Aaliyah Ybarra (Bastrop, Texas/Cedar Creek) and first years Eliza Abady (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./The Masters School), Gigi Belisario (Elmer, N.J./Woodstown), Shelby Meek (Halethorpe, Md./Catonsville) and Sarai Silveira (Houston, Texas/Harmony School of Discovery).
