Natalia Navarro Garners Landmark Weekly Accolades

TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's tennis first year Natalia Navarro (Francisco Morazan, Honduras / Del Campo School) was named the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Navarro posted wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles as the Gophers opened the spring portion of their season with a 6-3 win at St. Mary's College of Maryland on Sunday.  In singles Navarro downed her opponent 6-2, 6-0, while in doubles action she and Eliza Abady (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./The Masters School) prevailed 8-0.

This season, Navarro is 4-0 in dual match singles play and 5-2 overall.

Goucher, 3-1 overall, returns to action Saturday when it travels t Salisbury for a 1 pm match.  The Gophers play their spring home opener Tuesday, March 14, entertaining Kutztown in a 3:30 match at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
