Ingraham, Oquendo Silveira Post Wins at Methodist

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist University registered a 7-2 non-conference women's tennis victory over Goucher College Wednesday afternoon at the Gene Clayton Tennis Center.

• The Monarchs (3-4) swept doubles from the Gophers (3-4).
• At No. 3 doubles, Shelby Meek and Aaliyah Ybarra went to a tiebreak, succumbing 8-7 (7-5).

• Lucy Ingraham pulled out a three-set win at No. 4, holding off her opponent for a 6-1, 2-6, 13-11 win.
• Sarai Oquendo Silveira picked up a victory at No. 6, posting a 6-3, 6-4 triumph.
• Eliza Abady took her opponent at No. 3 to tiebreakers in both sets before falling 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-1).

• Ingraham posted her third straight singles victory.
• Silveira moved to 3-1 in singles this season.

• Goucher is slated to open Landmark Conference play this weekend, traveling to Wilkes on Saturday and Scranton on Sunday.
• The Gophers host Catholic on Wednesday, March 27 at 3:30 pm at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
