YORK, Pa. - The Goucher College women's tennis team downed York College of Pennsylvania 4-3 in non-conference women's tennis Saturday afternoon at the Myers Tennis Complex.
The Gophers (2-0) picked up the doubles point despite surrendering No. 3 doubles with only five players in the lineup. Natalia Navarro and Meline Siggen were 6-3 winners at No. 1, while at No. 2, Shelby Meek and Eliza Abady posted a 6-1 triumph.
Navarro was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2 singles, while Abady triumphed 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3. Sarai Oquendo Silveira posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5.
Meek went to three sets in her match at No. 4 before falling 1-6, 6-4, 10-7.
Goucher closed out its fall slate on Saturday and is back in action in February.
