Goucher Takes Down Cardinals on the Road

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Goucher College Women's Tennis team (11-7 Overall; 7-2 Conference) wrapped up Landmark Conference play against the Catholic University Cardinals (11-6 Overall; 5-2 Conference) in a 5-2 win. This marks the seventh straight win for the women.

• The women dropped the doubles point after losing the No. 1 match 6-3, and the No. 3 match in a tie breaker 6-7(5-7).
• Despite losing the point, Eliza Abady and Meline Siggen won the No. 2 match, 6-3.

• Natalia Navarro won the No. 1 match after her opponent retired after the first set.
• In the No. 2 singles, Siggen won 6-4, 6-3.
• Abady won in the No. 4 match in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
• The No. 5 match was won by Shelby Meek after fighting to win the second set (6-2, 7-5).
• Sarai Oquendo Silveira won the No. 6 match 6-3, 6-3.

• This was the final match for the Goucher Women in regular season. The Landmark Conference seedings are to be announced at the conclusion of the week.
