Landmark Athlete of the Week Awarded to Alexa Benedict

BALTIMORE, MD - The Landmark Conference has announced its Athlete of the Week selections today. This included first-year, Alexa Benedict, as the winner for women's tennis.

This follows the third set extended tiebreaker against Washington College (MD) on Saturday. This win secured the lone point for Goucher in the 6-1 loss. Benedict won the first set 6-2, but her opponent rallied back with a 6-2 victory. This forced a third-set tiebreaker, which Benedict won 1-0(17-15). 

The women return to action this Saturday, Mar. 7th at St. Mary's (MD) for a 1pm start. The team is home on Monday, Mar. 9th, to host Methodist for a 3pm start.
