BETHLEHEM, PA - The Goucher College Gophers women's tennis team (2-10 overall, 2-3 conference) traveled to face the Greyhounds of Moravian University (12-2 overall, 5-0 conference) for a conference matchup.
In singles play, No. 1 Natalia Navarro fell in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, while No. 2 Meline Siggen lost 6-4, 6-0. At No. 3, Lucy Ingraham was the lone winner for the Gophers, leading 6-0, 4-2 before her opponent retired. At No. 4 singles, Alexa Benedict pushed her match to a tiebreaker before ultimately falling 6-1, 2-6, 7-6. Rounding out singles play, No. 5 Nini Kandelaki lost in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, and No. 6 Kendra Lanese fell 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, the No. 1 duo of Navarro and Siggen was defeated 6-2. The No. 2 pair of Ingraham and Benedict fell 6-2, while the No. 3 team of Lanese and Lydia Hurst was defeated 6-0.
The Gophers return to action on Sunday, April 12, when they host Wilkes at 12 p.m.
