Gophers Wrap Up 2026 Season with Narrow Victory

BALTIMORE, MD- The Goucher College Gophers Women's Tennis team (5-12 overall, 4-5 Landmark) closed out their season with a 4-3 win over the Rangers of Drew University (9-9 overall, 5-3 Landmark), highlighted by a clinching performance from Nini Kandelaki.

In singles play, No. 1 Natalia Navarro won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, while No. 2 Meline Siggen also earned a straight-set victory, 6-0, 6-4. No. 3 Lucy Ingraham battled in three sets, taking the first set 6-4 before dropping the final two sets, 6-4, 6-4. No. 4 Alexa Benedict fell 6-3, 6-0, and No. 6 Kendra Lanese lost 6-1, 6-0. At No. 5 singles, Kandelaki delivered the match-clinching point for the Gophers. She won the opening set 7-6 (4-2), dropped the second set 6-3, and rallied in the deciding third set for a 6-4 victory.

In doubles play, the Gophers secured the points. The No. 1 pairing of Navarro and Ingraham earned a 6-4 win, while the No. 2 duo of Siggen and Benedict secured a 6-1 victory. The No. 3 team of Lanese and Lydia Hurst fell 6-0.

The match concludes the Gophers' 2025-26 women's tennis season. They will return to action in Fall 2026.
