Two Gophers Named to CSC Academic All-District
BALTIMORE, MD – The Goucher College women's tennis team had two players named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced today by the organization.
The CSC Academic All-District honor recognizes student-athletes who excel both athletically and academically. To be eligible, nominees must be at least a sophomore academically, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and be key contributors to their team.
A junior from Honolulu, Hawaii, Lucy Ingraham, served as one of the leaders and seasoned veterans on the young team. She appeared in 16 of the team's 17 matches, while adding nine singles wins and 10 doubles wins. This earned her an honorable mention for Landmark All-Conference. In the classroom, Ingraham is majoring in Environmental Studies, and will be graduating early, while she has kept a 3.67 GPA.
The other member of the team is senior, Natalia Navarro, who participated in 15 of the team's 17 matches. Throughout the season, she added seven singles wins and six doubles wins in the No. 1 spot to secure a second-team All-Conference nomination. Off the court, she is earning a degree in Business Management and Economics and has maintained a 3.61 GPA.
The two members of the program have been vital to the team's prestigious academic standard on campus, as the program has won the Robert Lewand Team Academic Achievement Award, presented by the college.
