Macaluso Breaks Indoor Long Jump School RecordMcLellan Produces Fastest Time in Program History in 600

CARLISLE, Pa. - New indoor school records in the long jump and 600-meter run were set today by Goucher athletes competing at the Dickinson Indoor Holiday Meet.
Freshman Dana Macaluso (Huntington, NY/Huntington) broke the long jump record with her effort of 15-feet, 11.5-inches and sophomore Amy McLellan (Brewster, MA/Nauset Regional) produced the fastest time in the history of Goucher's women's track and field program in the 600 by completing the event in 2:01.31.
Macaluso placed fifth in the long jump and McLellan wound up eighth in the 600.
The highest a Goucher athlete placed in any event was fourth: by Hannah Southworth (Madbury, NH/Oyster River) in the 800-meter run (3:05.77) and by Becky Foner (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape Elizabeth) in the 1,000-meter run (3:37.29). In addition to Macaluso's fifth-place performance in the long jump, Abigail Cooney (Holden, MA/Wahusett Regional) placed fifth in the shot put (26-feet, 10.25-inches).
Goucher's 4 x 200-meter relay team that was composed of Dayna Mizzer (Prince Frederick, MD/Calvert), McLellan, Macaluso and Sheba Newman-Blount (Lanham, MD/Bishop Ireton) placed sixth with a time of 2:00.29.
Goucher earned a total of 20 points in six events to finish in 10th place in the overall team scoring.
