Foner Records Fastest Times in 800, Mile RunSolomon Takes First Place in 400, Second in 800

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Becky Foner (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape Elizabeth) accounted for two of the three first-place performances turned in by Goucher athletes today at the Hagerstown Community College Invitational.
Foner was the first to cross the finish line in the 800-meter and mile runs. She completed the 800 in 2:49.71 and the mile in 6:04.69.
Samantha Solomon (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) placed first in the 400-meter run. Her winning time was 1:21.48.
Solomon was also runner-up to Foner in the 800 (3:21.63).
Goucher also produced the runner-up in three others events: Sheba Newman-Blount (Lanham, MD/Bishop Ireton) in the 55-meter dash (:07.85c) and 200-meter run (:29.25c), and Abby Cooney (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional) in the shot put (26-feet, 9-inches).
Dana Macaluso (Huntington, NY/Huntington) placed third behind Newman-Blount in both the 55-meter dash (:07.95c) and 200 (:29.35c).
