Meade Completes 200 Dash in Under 29 Seconds
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — A freshman competing in the first meet of her collegiate career became only the third individual in the history of Goucher's women's indoor track and field program to finish a 200-meter dash in under 29 seconds today at the Ursinus Winter Invitational.
Cooney Places Seventh Among Div. III Athletes in Shot Put
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — A freshman competing in the first meet of
her collegiate career became only the third individual in the
history of Goucher's women's indoor track and field program to
finish a 200-meter dash in under 29 seconds today at the Ursinus
Winter Invitational.
Sarah Meade (Santa Fe, N.M./Monte Del Sol Charter School) completed the event in :28.98 and, although that put her in 21st place overall, only five of the runners who finished ahead of her were from Division III institutions.
Hannah Southworth (Durham, N.H./Oyster River) placed 15th overall in the women's mile run as she crossed the finish line in 6:15.65.
In the shot put, Abby Cooney (Holden, Mass./Wachusett Regional) finished in 18th place overall — and seventh among Division III competitors — with an effort of 29-feet, 8.75-inches.
