SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Danielle Granger (Amherst, Va./Amherst County) set a new PR in the 60-meter hurdles tonight, and in doing so she ran the seventh fastest time in school history in the event. Granger crossed the line in 10.31, putting her in ninth place to lead Goucher's performance at the Susquehanna Open.
Brianna Hite (Port Republic, Md./Calvert) and Amanda Tascarella (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) also had a strong meet, with each breaking six minutes in the one-mile run for the first time this season to register top 20 finishes in the event. Hite (5:54.62) placed 18th out of 42 competitors while Tascarella (5:54.82) was right behind in 19th.
Rebecca Kotula (Fallston, Md./John Carroll School) finished ninth in the pole vault after clearing 2.30 meters (7'6 1/2"). That was the ninth-highest indoor jump in program history.
Ellie Ginsberg (Ocean Twp., N.J. / Ocean Twp.), making her season debut, posted the program's top time in the 800-meter run this year, earning a 19th place showing with a time of 2:41.37.
Competing in the 200-meter dash for the first time this season, Kamillah Smith (Northampton, Mass./Amherst Regional) registered a 14th place showing, topping 13 other runners in the event at 28.55. Earlier in the meet, she placed 11th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.48.
Maafio Appiah-Padi (Edmonton, Alberta/Lewisburg Area), meanwhile, had her best showing this evening in the weight throw, placing 11th out of 18 throwers with a top toss of 10.85 meters (35'7 1/4"). She also placed 24th in the shot put with a throw of 9.20 meters (30'2 1/4").
There was no team scoring at the event. The Gophers will return to Selinsgrove next weekend for the Landmark Indoor Championships, with the meet scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
