SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher earned points in five events, finishing in sixth place today with a total of 8.5 points at the 2015 Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Kamillah Smith (Northampton, Mass./Amherst Regional) and Rebecca Kotula (Fallston, Md./John Carroll School) were the only two athletes to secure points for the Gophers by placing sixth or higher in an individual event. Smith came away with four points by completing the 60-meter dash in 8.27 seconds, good for fourth place, and Kotula claimed 1.5 points by winding up in a tie for fifth place in the pole vault competition by clearing 2.29 meters (7'6").
Goucher's remaining three points were awarded for sixth-place finishes in three relays events.
In the distance medley relay, the entry of Brianna Hite (Port Republic, Md./Calvert), Ellie Ginsberg (Ocean Twp., N.J./Ocean Twp.), Kotula and Amanda Tascarella (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) was clocked at 14:16.94. In the 4 x 200-meters, Danielle Granger (Amherst, Va./Amherst County), Barbara Hounsou (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook), Kotula and Annie Drascher (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) posted a time of 2:02.60; in the 4 x 400, Granger, Drascher, Ginsberg and Kotula finished in 4:44.00.
Just four points separated Goucher from Juniata, which claimed fifth place with a team score of 12.5 points. The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, which failed to score a point during the meet, ended up in seventh place.
