PHILADELPHIA, PA — The same four runners who placed
third in the 4 x 400-meter relay represented Goucher in that event
today at the Penn Relays.
When Amy McLellan (Brewster, MA/Nauset Regional),
Marisa Long (Hampton Bays, NY/Sachem),
Sheba Newman-Blount (Lanham, MD/Bishop Ireton) and
Rachel Boss (Keene, NH/Keene) ran the 4 x 400
relay at CACs, they set a new school record with their time of
4:13.39. Today the quarter completed the event in 4:17.74, the
second-fastest time ever recorded in the history of Goucher's
women's track and field program.
Today's race was conducted through a series of 10 heats and Goucher
was the only Division III entry in the ninth heat. Overall, Goucher
placed 78th out of the 87 teams which completed in the
event.
