Gophers Add 30 Points to Total, Finish in Fifth Place
KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Goucher went into the second and final day of the 2014 Landmark Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in fifth place and that's where head coach John Caslin's squad finished, but the Gophers did earn 30 points today in seven separate events.

Third-place finishes by Katelynn Zidanic (York, Pa./Central York) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Danielle Granger (Amherst, Va./Amherst County) in the 400-meter hurdles netted the Gophers a total of 12 points. Zidanic completed her event in 12:13.79 and Granger was clocked at 1:11.32.
Goucher entries in two relays both placed fourth overall. In the 4 x 100-meter relay, the quartet of Desirae Moten (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends School), Granger, Sara Aganovic (Pasadena, Md./McDonogh) and Rebecca Kotula (Fallston, Md./John Carroll School) registered a time of 55.10 seconds; in the 4 x 400-meter relay, an entry composed of Granger, Kotula, Moten and Kathryn Walker (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) finished in 4:37.16.
Aganovic, who placed third Saturday in the long jump, came back today to take fifth place in the triple jump as she turned in an effort of 9.78 meters (32'1").
Maafio Appiah-Padi (Edmonton, Alberta/Lewisburg Area) secured three points for the Gophers today with an effort of 10.02 meters (32'10 1/2") in the shot put. She accounted for one of the 10 points on Saturday when she placed eighth in the hammer throw.
Kotula completed the 800-meter run today in 2:38.66, good for eighth place.
Moravian won the team title with a score of 311 points. Susquehanna was a distant second with 177.5 points, followed by Juniata (115 points) in third, Catholic (109.5) in fourth, Goucher in fifth and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (3) in sixth.
