Brogan Earns Goucher's Two Pts. in Steeplechase
BALTIMORE, Md. — Hannah Brogan (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) accounted for the only two points Goucher was able to score this weekend at the Morgan State Legacy, a meet in which 11 of the 14 squads which finished ahead of head coach John Caslin's Gophers in the team scoring were from Division I institutions.

Brogan was the only Division III entrant in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and placed seventh overall with a time of 13:12.92. First place in the event went to Ariana North from George Washington and her winning time was 11:00.94, a new meet record.
- Kamillah Smith (Northampton, Mass./Amherst Regional) broke the outdoor school record in the 200-meter dash as she completed the event in 25.52 seconds, good for 22nd place overall. Her time, however, was the fastest by a Division III runner; she crossed the finish line 1-thousandth of a second ahead of Kelly Vogt from Rowan.
- The outdoor school record in the 4 x 100-meter relay also fell today thanks to the time of :49.85 accomplished by an entry comprised of Maya Belin (Baltimore, Md./Maryvale Preparatory School), Monique Welch (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin), Laura Williams (Verona, N.J./Verona) and Smith. Goucher took 10th place in the event.
- Smith produced the third-fastest time in the 100-meter dash in the history of Goucher's outdoor women's track and field program. She was clocked at :12.45 in the preliminaries. Belin also competed in the 100-meter dash and her time of :12.64 ranks sixth all-time.
- Welch recorded a time of :26.43 in the 200-meter dash, which goes on Goucher's list of all-time best times in the event at No. 6.
Goucher will compete in the college women's 4 x 100-meter relay at the Penn Relay Carnival on Thursday.
