YORK, Pa. - After having their opening meet of the 2018 outdoor season canceled last weekend, the Goucher College women's track & field team finally opened competition for the season on Wednesday evening at the York College Twilight Meet.

On the night, Goucher's highest finish was recorded by sophomore Natalie Kent (Media, Pa.) in the shot put, finishing fourth with a 36 foot, 0.25-inch effort.

Elsewhere, sophomore Taylor Gunter (Laurel, Md.) had a personal-best in the hammer throw with a 118-foot toss that put her in ninth place overall in the event. Also in the hammer, Kent was 14th place (104 feet, seven inches), as her effort was also a personal-best.

On the track, sophomore Anna Gallina (Whitehall, Pa.) was ninth in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a personal-best time of 13.29. With her efforts in both the 100 and 400-meters (1:04.26), Gallina now has the fastest times in each event in the Landmark Conference on the young outdoor season.

To round out the top performances on the night, first-year Enid Swatson (Accra, Ghana) had personal-bests in the 200 (29.75) and 400 (1:10.14)-meters, as did fellow first-year Isabel Srour (Potomac, Md.) in the 800 (2:49.49) and 1500-meters (6:06.49). Sophomore Victoria Wheeler (Kinnelon, N.J.) also hit a PR in the 800-meters (2:48.33), as well.
