Nyadongo Breaks School Record in Season Opener

NEW YORK, NY - The Gophers opened their 2025–26 indoor campaign on the road at the Armory, competing in a season-opening meet hosted by The College of New Jersey.
Nancy Nyadongo led the charge for the Gophers on the track, setting a school record in the women's 300-meter, finishing with a time of 40.27. She later secured another first-place finish for the Gophers in the 60-meter dash, earning a time of 7.79.
In the women's field events, Goucher had two top-15 finishes in the women's long jump. Marissa Heil placed 13th with a jump of 4.71 meters, followed closely by freshman Madison Zubo, who claimed 14th place with her mark of 4.63 meters. Zubo also made her collegiate debut in the 60-meter prelims, running a time of 8.91. Heil added another strong performance, with a top 10 finish in women's shot put, throwing 7.84 meters.
The Gophers are back in action on Saturday, January 17th, when they travel to the Prince George's Sport & Learning Complex for the 2026 Cardinal Classic, hosted by Catholic University.
