Podium Performances Highlight Gopher Women’s Landmark Meet
SELINSGROVE, PA - The Goucher College Gophers traveled to Susquehanna to compete in the Landmark Conference Indoor Championships, a meet highlighted by personal records and multiple podium finishes.
The day opened with field events, where Ja'Kiya Allen competed in the weight throw. Allen recorded a mark of 11.35 meters, earning a top-20 finish. The momentum continued in the high jump as AaShyah De Vries cleared a height of 1.42 meters to secure an eighth-place podium finish. Marissa Heil landed a top 15 finish in the long jump with a distance of 4.66 meters.
On the track, the Gophers delivered strong performances across several events. Kalia Kiyoi posted a personal-best time of 21:05.41 in the 5,000 meters, finishing inside the top 20. Ray Asiedu followed with a personal record of 8.09 seconds in the 60-meter dash, placing in the top 10. Asiedu turned in another standout performance in the 200 meters, earning a seventh-place podium finish with a time of 26.91. The Gophers earned another podium appearance in the 4x200-meter relay, recording a top-eight finish with a time of 2:02.10. The Gophers wrapped up the meet with an eighth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, as Heil, Kiyoi, Asiedu, and Rosy Palla combined for a time of 5:03.93.
