ECAC Championship Marks the End of Gophers Season with Multiple Highlights

WESTMINSTER, MD - The Goucher College Gophers traveled to McDaniel College to compete in the ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. Goucher saw multiple strong performances with season-best throws. 

Ray Asiedu kicked off the strong performances for Goucher, with a personal best finish in the 100m race, finishing with a time of 12.38 for a second-place finish. Asiedu added a fourth-place finish in the 200m race, for a personal best time of 25.83.

In the field events, Ja'Kiya Allen tied her personal best throw of 35.19m for a seventh-place finish. She also added an eighth-place finish in Discus with a mark of 29.93m. Leading the field events was first-year AaShyah De Vries, who finished third in the high jump to end the day, with a jump of 1.48m. She also added a sixth-place finish in the javelin throw with her mark of 29.09m. Marissa Heil showed in the long jump but did not record a mark. 

This concludes the 2026 outdoor season for the team. Track & Field will return to action in the winter to begin the indoor season.
