Gophers Sandwich Wins Around Loss to Mustangs
Sauvage-Mar Totals 91 Assists in Goucher's Three Matches

STEVENSON, Md. – Goucher sandwiched victories over Marymount, 3-2, and Manhattanville, 3-0, around a loss to Stevenson, 3-1, at a quadrangular match today.
The Gophers, who ended a 12-match losing streak against Marymount by beating the Saints, 3-1, last season, captured the first two sets today before needing to come out on top in the fifth set to complete a 25-12, 25-22, 27-29, 23-25, 15-12 win. Megan Smith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) contributed 17 kills and 21 sigs to the victory.
Smith, however, was injured during the second set of a 10-25, 25-11, 26-24, 25-8 loss to Stevenson. Catie Ditmore (Santa Barbara, Calif./Laguna Blanca) led Goucher in kills (7) and digs (17) against the Mustangs.
Carolyn Crissey (Philadelphia, Pa./Creative & Performing Arts) finished with eight kills and Kasey Quinn (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) with 20 digs in a 25-16, 25-9, 25-20 triumph over the Valiants.
Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Dehli, India/American Embassy School) totaled 91 assists for Goucher (3-8) in the three matches.
