ARLINGTON, Va. — Goucher improved to 13-9 against Capital Athletic Conference teams since leaving that organization following the 2006-07 academic year by prevailing in a four-set match against Marymount tonight.
Set scores were 25-20, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17.
Kasey Quinn (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Ashley Fan (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) both reached double figures in kills in the victory. Quinn supplied the Gophers (1-3) with 14 kills and a team-leading four service aces; Fan chipped in with 11 kills and a .280 attack percentage.
Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) finished with a season-high 32 assists and Megan Chalk (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) was credited with 21 digs.
The win was Goucher's fourth in as many tries over the Saints (1-3) since the Gophers switched conferences, leaving the CAC to become members of the Landmark Conference.
