BALTIMORE, Md. — Goucher battled back to win the second set, tying this evening match against Keystone at one set apiece, but the Giants went on to take the next two sets and claim a 3-1 victory over the Gophers.
Set scores were 21-25, 25-23, 18-25, 22-25.
In the second set, 12 of the 18 offensive points head coach Kelli Wilkinson's squad earned were from kills. Michelle Tweedie (Accra, Ghana/Lincoln Community School) accounted for half of that total .
Kelly Budge (Harrington Park, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) supplied the Gophers (7-15) with five kills in the final set, hiking her team-high total for the match to 14.
Hannah Zuchowski turned in a 16-kill, 14-dig performance for the victorious Giants (14-3), who are tied with Immaculata for second place in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
