BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Goucher College volleyball team made quick work of both Valley Forge and host Bryn Mawr on Saturday afternoon, taking each match by scores of 3-0.
With the victories, the Gophers evened their record on the year to 4-4 overall.
In the Valley Forge match, Goucher was dominant in all three sets, rolling to a sweep (25-16, 25-17, 25-12).
Overall in the win, sophomore Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) led a balanced Gopher attack, finishing with a team-high eight kills. Brown was also a force up front for Goucher, finishing with three solo blocks in the win.
Against the host Bryn Mawr, it was more of the same for Goucher, as they rolled past another opponent in straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 25-19).
In the victory, a pair of Gophers hit double-digits in kills to lead the Goucher offense.
First-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii) led the Gophers, finishing with 11 kills, while sophomore Emily Sorrells (Annapolis, Md.) had 10 kills. Melchor also went on to post a double-double, finishing with a team-best 12 digs, as well.
Elsewhere, DeJaeger set up the attack all game, finishing with 35 assists, while first-year Nelisabel La Court Ruiz (York, Pa.) finished with 11 digs while recording three service aces.
The Goucher College volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, as they travel to Hood. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
