Susquehanna Sweeps Gophers

TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Susquehanna University eased past Goucher College for a 3-0 Landmark Conference women's volleyball victory Friday night at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.  Set scores were 25-10, 25-4, 25-14.

• Susquehanna (15-11, 5-3 Landmark) jumped out to a 5-0 lead before an Imani Ward kill for the Gophers (0-18, 0-6).
• The River Hawks led 11-2 before three straight Gopher points including a Madi Kraemer service ace.
• Up 19-9, Susquehanna closed the set on a 6-1 run.

• The guests jumped out to a 6-2 lead.
• The River Hawks closed the set with the final 14 points.

• Goucher pulled within 7-4 on a Kraemer service ace.
• Trailing 12-4, the Gophers chipped away and pulled within 17-13 after an Alex Dzhygit kill and an Athena Savick service ace.
• Susquehanna closed the set and the match on a 8-1 run.

• Ward had four kills for Goucher, while Maria Basantes had three.
• Savick racked up 10 digs, with Basantes chipping in with seven.
• Vivian Huddleston recorded eight assists.
• Dakota Hawkins had a pair of blocks, while Kraemer finished with a pair of service aces.

• Goucher is back in action Saturday when it hosts Elizabethtown College at noon in Landmark Conference play at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
