TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's volleyball team swept Trinity Washington University 3-0 on Senior Night Tuesday evening at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center. Set scores were 25-11, 25-13, 25-10.
- Trinity Washington (1-11) took an 8-6 lead in the opening frame.
- Goucher (1-19) reeled off 14 straight points to go in front 20-8.
- The run included six Athena Savick service aces.
- Three straight service aces by Emma Taylor closed out the set.
- The Gophers used a 6-0 run in the second set to build a 10-3 lead.
- Three straight service aces by Maria Basantes upped Goucher's lead to 19-8.
- A Liv DeBiasio kill closed out the second set.
- The hosts opened up the third set with a 9-0 run that made it 15-3.
- Lucy Ingraham had three service aces during the run, while Taylor had a pair of kills.
- Basantes and Imani Ward had kills in the closing 5-2 run.
- Goucher hit .174 on the night and racked up 24 service aces.
- Taylor led the Gophers with seven kills, while Alex Dzhygit had five.
- Basantes recorded six digs, with Savick and Vivian Huddleston adding five apiece.
- Savick finished with six service aces, while Basantes added five.
- Huddleston, the Gophers lone senior who was honored prior to Tuesday's match, handed out 18 assists.
