Gophers Drop Landmark Finale to Greyhounds

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Moravian University eased past Goucher College for a 3-0 Landmark Conference women's volleyball victory Saturday afternoon at Johnston Hall. Set scores were 25-14, 25-22, 25-14.
- Goucher (1-21, 0-9 Landmark) pulled within 11-8 following a kill by Emma Taylor.
- After the Greyhounds (16-11, 4-5) scored the next three points, the Gophers scored the next three to make it 14-11.
- Up 17-13, Moravian closed the set on an 8-1 run.
- Goucher jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the second set, capped by an Athena Savick service ace.
- After Moravian pulled within 11-9, the Gophers scored four straight capped by a Maria Basantes kill to go up 15-9.
- With Goucher in front 20-15, the Greyhounds scored four in a row to make it 20-19.
- A Liv DeBiasio kill put Goucher up 22-20, but Moravian reeled off five straight points to take the set.
- A Madi Kraemer kill pulled Goucher within 12-9.
- The Greyhounds rattled off five straight points to build a 17-9 lead.
- After the Gophers made it 20-14 on a Maya Miller service ace, Moravian scored the last five points to close out the match.
- Kraemer paced the Gophers with 10 digs, with Taylor and Savick recording nine apiece and Vivian Huddleston adding eight.
- Huddleston and Taylor each had six assists.
- DeBiasio had a pair of block assists.
- Basantes and Alex Dzhygit each added three kills.
- Goucher wraps up the season next Saturday, November 9, when it travels to Shenandoah University for an 11 am non-conference match.
