TOWSON, Md. - Just as she did as a sophomore in 2005 and again as a junior in 2006, Goucher's J. Fraley Coles (The Plains, VA/Highland School) was the first runner to cross the finish line today at this year's edition of the Mid-Atlantic Cross Country Classic.

TOWSON, Md. - Just as she did as a sophomore in 2005 and again as a junior in 2006, Goucher's J. Fraley Coles (The Plains, VA/Highland School) was the first runner to cross the finish line today at this year's edition of the Mid-Atlantic Cross Country Classic.
Coles achieved her three-peat by completing the 6,000-meter race in 24:33.37, which gave her a more than 14-second victory over Alyse Cheatle from Catholic (24:47.72).
Runners from Landmark Conference schools took the top five spots: Juniata's Laura Rupprecht (24:55.75) was third, Scranton's Becky Prial (25:07.20) was fourth and Catholic's Jenna Hackett (25:16.25) was fifth.
Catholic captured the team title with a score of 68 points. Morgan St. was the runner-up with 74 points, followed by Scranton (105 points) in third, Rowan and Moravian (109) tied for fourth, Drew (123) in sixth, Juniata (126) in seventh, Goucher (152) in eighth and Villa Julie (228) in ninth.
After Coles, Goucher didn't have another runner come in until Becky Foner (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape Elizabeth) and Tamara Filipovich (Belgrade, Serbia/Mercersburg Academy) in 35th and 36th places, respectively. Foner was clocked at 27:36.19 and Filipovic at 27:51.38.
Goucher's fourth runner was Kate Young (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) in 43rd place with a time of 28:24.75.
