Myette, Burr Crack Top 100 at Mid-East Regional
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Two Goucher runners were among the top 100 finishers today at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional.
Gophers Finish with 660 Points, 24th Place in Team Scoring
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Two Goucher runners were among the top 100 finishers today at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional.
Junior Kelsey Myette (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) crossed the finish line in 74th place and freshman Taylor Burr (Addison, Maine/Maranacook Community) followed in 94th place. Myette completed the 6,000-meter race in 24:26.9 and Burr in 24:48.9.
The Gophers finished in 24th place out of the 45 teams which had at least five runners in the race, earning a team score of 660 points. The top three in the team scoring were Johns Hopkins in first place with 69 points, Dickinson in second with 126 points and Elizabethtown in third with 140 points.
Following Burr, the next three Goucher runners to come in were sophomore Hadley Couraud (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) in 157th place (25:49.2), freshman Shea Staab (Fallston, Md./Fallston) in 171st place (26:06.4) and freshman Katelynn Zidanic (York, Pa./Central York) in 179th place (26:18.0).
Hannah Southworth (Durham, N.H./Oyster River), the only senior on Goucher's 2010 roster, placed 194th overall with her time of 26:36.3.
The individual champion was sophomore Cecilia Furlong from Johns Hopkins. Her winning time was 21:57.2. The runner-up was senior Caitlin Dorgan from Delaware Valley (21:57.3).
A total of 314 runners completed the race.
