Gophers Rise to 13th Place in Crowded DeSales Inv. Field
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Goucher finished in 13th place with a team score of 412 points at today's DeSales Invitational, which gave the 41 competing teams a look at the same course that will be used next month for the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships.
Goucher's Top Performer: Couraud in 25:32, 54th Place
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Goucher finished in 13th place with a team score of 412 points at today's DeSales Invitational, which gave the 41 competing teams a look at the same course that will be used next month for the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships.
The top performers for Goucher were junior Hadley Couraud (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) and sophomores Taylor Burr (Addison, Maine/Maranacook Community) and Kathryn Walker (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh). Couraud completed the 6,000-meter race in 25:32.99, good for 54th place among the 424 finishers.
Burr (25:49.42) and Walker (26:14.57) crossed the finish line in 65th and 96th place, respectively.
A pair of freshman also figured in Goucher's team score as Gwendolyn Moiles (Waldoboro, Maine/Medomak Valley) was just seven spots behind Walker in 103rd place with her time of 26:21.77 and Zoe Malkin (Watchung, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) followed in 126th place (26:51.37).
The individual champion was Catherine Campbell from Dickinson, who toured the course in 22:51.25.
