Sophomore Posts Best Time by Landmark Runner in 2012
TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's Katherine Currier (Brooklyn, N.Y./LaGuardia) repeated as the Female Runner of the Week in the Landmark Conference.
One week after being named the recipient of the honor for Oct. 1-7, the sophomore was recognized today as top performer for women's cross country during the subsequent seven-day period.
Currier was nominated for the latest award after placing fifth in a field of 394 runners at Saturday's Gettysburg Invitational. She crossed the finish line in the 6,000-meter race in 22:37, which is not only just five seconds off the school record established by Fraley Coles back in 2007 at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional, but also the fastest time for a 6K by any Landmark Conference runner in 2012.
