Freshmen Place 52nd, 65th for Goucher in Shorter Race
NEWVILLE, Pa. — Goucher entered runners in only the 4,000-meter race at today's Dickinson Long/Short Invitational and with the top three all finishing in 71st place or better, the Gophers managed to score 135 points and place 11th in the team scoring.

Of the 144 female runners who completed the shorter of the two races, the one to do it the fastest was Reynah Spence from Shippensburg. She crossed the finish line in 14:40.4. The runner-up was Amanda Asaro from Gettysburg (14:49.0).
Goucher's top performer was freshman Ellie Ginsberg (Ocean Twp., N.J./Ocean Twp.), who was clocked at 16.33.3, which is the second-fastest time in the history of the school's women's cross country program for a race of that distance. Ginsberg placed 52nd overall.
Freshman Camille Jorgensen (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) was the second Goucher runner to finish. She completed the race in 17:01.9, good for 65th place.
Senior Katherine Walker (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) followed in 71st place with her time of 17:13.1.
With its score of 10 points, Shippensburg took first place in the team scoring for the 4,000-meter race. Dickinson was second with 31 points.
