Goucher Receives Academic Honor from USTFCCCA
NEW ORLEANS — For the sixth-consecutive season and 16th year overall, Goucher’s women’s cross country team has received All-Academic team recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
NEW ORLEANS — For the sixth-consecutive season and 16th year overall, Goucher's women's cross country team has received All-Academic team recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To qualify for the award, programs must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.10 or higher and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing the school at each.
Head coach John Caslin's Gophers registered a team GPA of 3.32 this fall, and the women's cross country program has been over 3.0 in every semester dating back to at least 1997.
A total of 211 Division III women's program were honored by the USTFCCCA, including fellow Landmark members Elizabethtown and Moravian. Johns Hopkins' women's team was named the D-III Scholar Team of the Year for a third-straight season.
