BALTIMORE, Md. – The Goucher College women's golf team begins its quest for its first Landmark Conference Championship at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Branchburg, N.J. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Gophers will start teeing off at 11 a.m. and will be paired with golfers from Catholic University of America, Drew University and Elizabethtown College in the opening round.
Emily Pochet (Royersford, Pa./Pennsylvania Leadership Charter) will be the first Goucher player on the tee at 11 a.m. and will be followed by Lauren O'Leary (Potomac, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) (11:10 a.m.), Danielle Pena (Montgomery, Texas/Montgomery) (11:20 a.m.), Emmie Starchvich (Jacksonville, Ore./South Medford) (11:30 a.m.) and Christina Pevey (Post, Texas/Post) (11:40 a.m.) will be the last Gopher to hit the links.
Pevey has led the way for the team this season with four Top-10 finishes out of the seven events. The sophomore was sixth in the conference's fall event and is coming off finishing tied for the two-round low score at the Goucher Spring Invitational. Starchvick finished third at the Goucher home event and has three Top-10 standings on the year while Pena has two and O'Leary has one Top-10 posting in 2018-19.
Goucher finished third at the championships in its inaugural season last year. Pevey, Starchvick, O'Leary and Pochet each competed in the event in 2018 with Pevey finishing third, Starchvich fifth while O'Leary had a 12th-place standing.
Marywood University is the defending conference champion and Drew's Lucy Lamb is the top returning player from last year's field.
