Sophomore Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.) scored the eventual game-winner in an 11-10 triumph for the Goucher College women's lacrosse team on Saturday at Juniata, and for her efforts, she was named the Landmark Conference's Offensive Athlete of the Week on Monday for the period ending April 8.
For Stull, this marks the first time in her career that she has been named the Landmark's Offensive Athlete of the Week.
On Saturday, Stull poured in five goals to lead the Gophers to their first win of the year over the host Eagles. Three of her goals came in the first half (accounting for all of Goucher's goals in the period), while her second two came in the final 30 minutes of regulation. Her final tally with 3:53 to go in regulation put the Gophers up for good at 11-8, as Goucher hung on down the stretch to take the one-goal victory.
For the year, Stull has been a force on the offensive end for the Gophers. In all, she has scored 32 goals for the season, and has posted nine multiple goal games, accomplishing the feat in the Gophers' last seven games overall. In the Landmark Conference, Stull is in a tie for seventh in total goals, as well.
Stull and the rest of the Goucher College women's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, as they host Susquehanna in a Landmark Conference matchup at home. Things get underway at Beldon Field beginning at 1 p.m.
