Women's Lacrosse Earns Multiple IWLCA Academic Awards
BALTIMORE, MD - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association announced both their DIII Academic Honor Squads, as well as their Academic Honor Roll.
In order to earn the IWCLA Academic Honor Squad, the team must post a 3.2 or higher GPA for the academic year. This is the first time the team has earned this award under Head Coach Katie Russo.
In addition to the team accolade, five individual athletes were named to the IWLCA DIII Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this. honor, student-athletes must be a junior standing or higher, and must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Four seniors, now graduates, were named including, Amelia Lazzini, Sydney Lewis, Izzy Montenegro, and Molly Smith. The lone junior, now senior, was Maura Poulton, who is majoring in Communication Studies.
This marks Lazzini and Smith's second time earning this award. The remaining athletes are first-time recipients.
