Gophers Fall to Eagles in Conference Matchup
BALTIMORE, MD - The Goucher College women's swim team hosted the Eagles of Juniata College on Friday afternoon. Despite strong showings, the Gophers fell 211-31.
To kick off the finishes for the Gophers, Kaitlyn Firth finished fourth in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 12:54.20, finishing seconds off the podium. Later in the meet, Firth finished first in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:06.61), while teammate Kan Jarvis rounded out the podium in third with a time of 1:08.30. Firth earned another podium finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle, falling under a second behind the first place finisher from Juniata.
Alana Moore had a strong showing in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, falling just five seconds behind the third place finisher, while improving her seed time. Jarvis fell .02 seconds off the podium in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 30.87, and earned the Gophers points in the 200 Yard IM with her fourth place finish (2:35.67).
The Gophers travel to Elizabethtown for a tri-meet where they will also see Immaculata on Friday, October 24th. The meet is set to begin at 5pm.
