READING, Pa. — Goucher had individuals place as high as second in three separate events today at the Albright Invitational.
Maafio Appiah-Padi (Edmonton, Alberta/Lewisburg Area) accounted for the meet's second-best effort in the weight throw as she produced a throw of 11.31 meters (37'1 1/4"). She also topped out at 9.95 meters (32'7 3/4") in the shot put, good for third place.
Goucher runners finished 2-3 in the 3,000 meters as Amanda Tascarella (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) crossed the finish line in 12:01.39 ahead of Brianna Hite (Port Republic, Md./Calvert), who was clocked at 12:30.75.
Rebecca Kotula (Fallston, Md./John Carroll School) shared second place in the pole vault with Andrea Christmas from Hood as both cleared 2.49 meters (8'2"). Kotula also placed fourth in the 800-meter run (2:54.22).
Danielle Granger (Amherst, Va./Amherst County) turned in a pair of fourth-place performances at the meet. One was in the 55-meter hurdles, where she posted a time of 10.16 seconds; the other was in the 400-meter dash (1:08.15).
Kamillah Smith (Northampton, Mass./Amherst Regional) took fourth place in the 55-meter dash (:07.90).
Goucher's entry consisting of Granger, Kotula, Annie Drascher (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and Soliana Goldrich (Cleveland, Ohio/Beachwood) placed third in the 4 x 400-meter relay. It was clocked at 5:04.90.
