Goucher, which last weekend nailed down the Region I title, needed to achieve a higher score than two of the other three teams it was competing against.

In beginning pursuit of another crown today, director Patte Zumbrun's riders hit the 45-point mark right off the bat and earned the distinction of high-point team at a riding show hosted by the defending champions.
