The Goucher College men’s soccer team announced its 2017 schedule on Thursday. The fall schedule includes nine home matches at Beldon Field. The 2017 slate includes two teams which competed in last season’s NCAA tournament and 15-of-18 teams from the 2016 schedule.
Junior defender, Drew Phillips (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.), was named to the 2016-17 All-Goucher Second Team by a panel of head coaches and athletic administrators, recognizing his efforts during the 2016 season.
On a day on which it honored its six seniors – Ryan Belluch (Reading, PA), Jeremy Hardy (Brooklyn, NY), Michael Layer (Columbia, SC), Andrew Marcantonio (Philadelphia, PA), and Ajito Odolla (Baltimore, MD), and Drew Phillips (Hoosick Falls, NY) - Drew University bested the Gophers with three second half goals and won 4-1.
The Goucher soccer program moved to 6-6-5 overall with a non-conference 2-1 loss to Eastern University on Tuesday, October 25th.
Sept. 12 – TOWSON, Md. – Thanks to a career week in net for the Goucher men’s soccer team, Gopher sophomore goal keeper, Daniel Hendry, has been named the Landmark Conference’s Defensive Athlete of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Sept. 11 – TOWSON, Md. – The Goucher College men’s soccer team continued their flair for the dramatic as the Gophers used a double-overtime goal from senior Andrew Marcantonio to defeat Hood College, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon.
Sept. 9 – ROSEMONT, Pa. – For the third time in their first four games of the season, the Goucher men’s soccer team used a late-regulation goal to earn a favorable decision, as the Gophers earned a 1-1 draw at Rosemont College on Friday evening.
Sept. 6 – TOWSON, Md. – For the second time in their three-game, season-opening home stand, the Goucher College men’s soccer team found themselves in need of a late-game goal. And, for the second time, the team delivered, as junior Drew Phillips connected on a header in the late stages to give the Gophers a 1-0 win over Penn State – Harrisburg on Tuesday.
Sept. 3 – TOWSON, Md. – In just the second collegiate start, freshman Brandon Cohen produced his first-career hat trick, lifting the Goucher College men’s soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday afternoon at Beldon Field.
Sept. 1 – TOWSON, Md. – A pair of career firsts helped the Goucher men’s soccer team play to a 1-1, double overtime, draw with Johns Hopkins University on Thursday evening at Beldon Field.
August 24 – TOWSON, Md. – The Goucher College men’s soccer team will look to a veteran-laden squad, as well as a number of fresh faces, to once again return to the Landmark Conference Tournament in the 2016 season.
