Women's Team Falls to Etown and Immaculata on the Road
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - The Goucher women's swim team traveled to Elizabethtown on Friday evening for a tri-meet against Elizabethtown College and Immaculata University. The Gophers fell to Immaculata, 165-50, and to Elizabethtown 171-49.
Kaitlyn Firth led the way for Goucher, earning multiple podium finishes. She claimed first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:10.00, edging out the runner-up by just .09. Firth followed that with another first-place finish in the 200 Yard IM (2:28.31) and added a fourth place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:19.74).
In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Kan Jarvis, narrowly missed the podium, finishing in 28.91. Alana Moore also came close in the 100 Yard Freestyle, clocking a 1:08.17, just half a second shy of third place.
The Gophers closed out the meet with a strong relay performance, as the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team, consisting of Jarvis, Moore, Shailine Culioli and Harper Sutton, rounded out the night with a third place finish (2:23.29).
Goucher will host Wilkes University on Saturday, November 15th in the Von Borries Aquatic Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1pm.
