TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's volleyball team hosted Hood College and Gwynedd Mercy University in a tri-match Saturday at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center. The Gophers fell 3-0 to the Blazers, before battling the Griffins in three close sets before dropping a 3-0 decision.
- Set scores against the Blazers (4-8) were 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.
- Imani Ward posted five kills for Goucher (0-8), while Liv DeBiasio and Emma Taylor added four apiece.
- Athena Savick and Lucille Hendricks finished with 10 digs apiece, while DeBiasio contributed nine.
- Taylor recorded nine assists, with Vivian Huddleston adding eight.
- Gwynedd Mercy (7-4) won by set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-16.
- DeBiasio and Taylor led the Gophers in the kill column with six apiece.
- Savick racked up 13 digs, with DeBiasio notching 11.
- Huddleston led the Gophers in assists with 10 and also had three service aces.
- Alex Dzhygit totaled three blocks (two solo).
- Goucher returns to action Wednesday, traveling to Gallaudet for a 7 pm match.
- The Gophers are back home for their Landmark Conference opener on Friday, October 4 at 6 pm against two-time defending national champion Juniata.
