Gophers at Preseason Classic Tournament of Champions | Otterbein University - Westerville, Ohio
NOTES: The Gophers have once again been invited to open their season at the Preseason Classic Tournament of Champions event...the Tournament of Champions series is reserved for teams who won a championship the previous season...Goucher won the IHSA Zone IV, Region I title in 2023-24...the Gophers open IHSA competition in two weeks on Saturday, October 5 with a home show, the first of two in the fall.

NOTES: Goucher returns to action with its second home tri-match of the season, hosting Hood and Gwynedd Mercy...the Gophers dropped a decision at Widener Tuesday night...Hood is coming off a loss to Gallaudet on Thursday, while the Griffins outlasted Alvernia 3-2 on Thursday...after Saturday Goucher is on the road for three matches before opening Landmark Conference play at home October 4 against defending national champion Juniata.

NOTES: Goucher, which has won five straight, opens Landmark Conference play at Wilkes on Saturday...the Gophers are coming off a 2-0 win over Marian (Wis.) last Saturday and have posted four straight shutouts...the Colonels were downed 5-2 at home by Oneonta on Wednesday evening...Wilkes posted a 2-0 win in last season's conference opener at Beldon Field.

NOTES: Goucher is coming off a 3-2 win at Neumann on Wednesday afternoon, its first victory of 2024...three players, Madison Ybarra, Emma Boyles and Nora Neall, all scored their first collegiate goals in the win...Notre Dame has dropped three straight and fell 8-0 to Bryn Mawr on Wednesday...the Gophers have won 10 straight in the series, including a 9-0 win in 2021 at Notre Dame.

NOTES: Goucher, after downing St. Mary's 6-1 in its season opener, saw its match at Messiah postponed on Wednesday due to inclement weather...the Spartans fell 7-0 to Gettysburg in their season opener last Saturday...last season at the Schroedl Tennis Center Goucher posted a 6-3 win.

NOTES: Goucher suffered its first setback of the season Wednesday night, falling to fifth-ranked Dickinson 5-0...the Gophers had started the season with a six-match unbeaten streak...Saturday is the final tuneup before Landmark play, which begins next Saturday at home against Lycoming...Widener, which reached the MAC Commonwealth title game in 2023, is coming off a 1-1 tie with Kean on the road Wednesday...the Gophers and Pride have met just twice, with Widener holding a 1-0-1 lead.
