SKILLMAN, N.J. In recognition of their academic accomplishments, 11 tennis players from Goucher have been designated 2008 ITA Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the governing body of collegiate tennis.
MADISON, N.J. - Seven women's tennis players were among the 36 student-athletes from Goucher who were recognized today by the Landmark Conference for academic accomplishments by being placed on the 2008 Spring Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
MADISON, N.J. - Goucher's Carly Heinz (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood), who went 2-0 at No. 2 singles, today was named the Landmark Conference's Women's Tennis Player of the Week for April April 13-19.
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - With the final berth in the upcoming Landmark Conference playoffs riding on the outcome of Goucher's match against Susquehanna today, the Gophers started off by sweeping the three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Then they secured their spot in the playoffs by capturing five of the six singles matches to earn an 8-1 victory over the Crusaders.
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher still had Scranton within its sights today after getting victories from Mouna Attarha (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) at No. 4 and Christina Grimm (Greenwich, CT/New Hampton) at No. 5, but still needed to win two of the three remaining singles matches that went to a third set.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Goucher gave Moravian, the team picked to win the 2007-08 Landmark Conference title in a pre-season poll, all it could handle today, but the Greyhounds (5-5, 3-0 Landmark) were able to finish on top, 5-4.
YORK, Pa. - Not only was Goucher able to extend its winning streak to six matches today by defeating York, 7-2, but with the victory, the Gophers picked up their 10th win of the season, something they hadn't accomplished since 2000-01.

TOWSON, Md. - Christina Grimm (Greenwich, CT/New Hampton) and Chloe Scott-Giry (Amagansett, NY/The Ross School) were victorious in singles play and partnered for Goucher's only doubles win as the Gophers defeated Wesley, 6-3, this afternoon.
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Goucher trailed only 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play this afternoon, but Christopher Newport proceeded to sweep the six singles matches - all in straight sets - to gain an 8-1 victory over the Gophers.

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The depth of Goucher's singles lineup was clearly on display today as the Gophers suffered losses at first and second singles, and yet still managed to slap a 6-3 setback on Manhattanville.
TOWSON, Md. - Just as it did in 2004-05 and 2006-07, Goucher opened its 2007-08 season today with a resounding victory over Waynesburg. The Gophers won five of the six singles matches in straight sets and swept the three doubles matches on the way to an 8-1 triumph over the visiting Yellow Jackets (0-3).
